Privacy
Effective October 1, 2026
Sauce Book doesn't collect any of your data. I can't see your recipes, your photos, or anything else you put in the app.
Sauce Book is made by Joel Rogers. This page explains where your data goes, which is nowhere you didn't send it.
Where your data lives
Your sauces, journal entries and photos are stored on your device. If you're signed in to iCloud, they also sync through your own private iCloud account, so they appear on your other devices. That storage belongs to you and is covered by Apple's privacy policy. I have no access to it.
What the app doesn't do
- No accounts or sign-in
- No analytics, tracking or advertising
- No third-party services or SDKs
- No data sold or shared with anyone
Camera and photos
Sauce Book asks for the camera only when you take a photo of a sauce. Choosing a photo from your library uses Apple's photo picker, so the app only sees the photos you choose. If you save a recipe card to Photos, the app asks for permission to add images only; it can't read your library.
Crash reports and beta feedback
If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, or you send feedback through TestFlight, Apple may pass along crash reports and the feedback you write. These don't include your recipes.
Deleting your data
Delete a sauce in the app and it's removed from your device and your iCloud. Deleting the app removes its data from that device. To remove the iCloud copy too, go to Settings › your name › iCloud › Storage.
This website
This site has no cookies, analytics or tracking. Like any web server, it keeps standard access logs (such as IP addresses and the pages requested) for security and troubleshooting. Everything on it, fonts included, comes from this server; your browser doesn't contact anyone else.
Changes
If this ever changes, for example if a future version adds a feature that needs data to leave your device, this page will be updated before that version is released.
